ANHSS 2020

This course is an annual event of the Asia Pacific Network for Capacity Building in Health System Strengthening (ANHSS), hosted by the Center for Health Policy and Management, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Course Schedule

The course is delivered through a series of webinar, conducted every Wednesday at 09.00 (UTC+7). To join/participate in the live webinar, participants must register and pay registration fee. Payment is done once for the whole webinar series (11 webinars). Registered participants can also access video/recording of the past webinar.

Webinar 1: August 12, 2020

This Session will set the background for the whole course. There will be two topics, and each will provide the context for the importance of engaging private sector while working towards achieving national health goals. The first speaker will highlight the challenges for health system in achieving universal health coverage and identifying gaps in capacity. The second speaker will introduce the concept of integrated care, why and how it is becoming more important in Asia-Pacific region.

Webinar 2: August 19, 2020

This Session will focus on second part of framework. First it will highlight the importance of understanding the private sector. This will be a panel session. The key speaker will explain the full range of private sector analytics and use in dialogue, and policy planning; followed by a panel that showcase experiences of conducting different models of private sector assessment in Myanmar, Vietnam and Indonesia. The second speaker will explain how we can devise private sector engagement policies, derived from such understanding of the private sector.

This Session will first highlight the important role of contract management skills, as this is a powerful tool to enhance transparency, integrity and monitoring mechanisms. As governments are becoming more interested in contracting services, contracting skills will be in demand in the future. This session will introduce challenges and issues around contracting management.
